Calgary dentist points to the benefits of Invisalign clear aligners

For most people with misaligned teeth the thought of the hassle and inconvenience of getting braces is overwhelming and a show-stopper; especially when thinking about all of the things they will have to go through to get their desired results. Most people envision the nightmare of having to display traditional braces with metal brackets and wires by day and use uncomfortable headpieces by night. Clients at Living Wellness Dental Northland are informed of continued advances in orthodontics and dentistry, that afford them other less obtrusive options available to them. One of the more popular and discreet options includes the use of Invisalign clear aligner trays, sometimes referred to by our clients as “clear braces.” There are many benefits to using Invisalign in place of conventional metal brackets and wires, making them a popular choice for teenagers and adults just like you.

Invisalign Clear Aligners Benefits in Calgary Area

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign works differently than conventional orthodontia. Instead of gluing brackets to the teeth and using a wire to adjust and move teeth into better alignment, Invisalign uses clear aligner trays that slip over the teeth. An entire series of trays is made for the client based on impressions of their current smile and the desired smile they’d like to achieve. The incremental shifts help the client progress from mis-alignment to a breathtaking, symmetrical smile. Each tray is worn over the teeth for at least 20 hours a day for two weeks until the optimal smile is achieved!

What are the benefits of clear braces such as Invisalign?

There are many advantages to Invisalign when compared to conventional braces and head appliances. Some of the benefits of Invisalign include:

  • Clear, discreet treatment
  • Fast results
  • More comfortable appliances
  • Ease of use
  • Easier brushing and flossing of the teeth
  • Removable trays that can be easily cleaned
  • Comparable cost to traditional braces

Is Invisalign right for me?

Clients who opt for traditional metal braces sometimes face greater challenges keeping their teeth clean. Failure to completely clean around the braces can lead to worn enamel or gumline sensitivity. Those who can commit to complying with treatment guidance and have mild to moderate misalignment may be considered viable candidates for Invisalign orthodontics. Additionally, some clients have sensitivity to metals rendering themselves incompatible with traditional orthodontic approaches. Our fantastic team at Living Wellness Dental Northland can identify whether Invisalign is right for you and help you understand the process and work collaboratively with you towards achieving that beautiful smile!
